An exciting opportunity has arisen with our Adult Acute Inpatient ward at Shoredrift to recruit an Activity Facilitator.Shoredrift is an acute admission ward based at Hopewood Park, Sunderland.
The service is for men over the age of 18 years with a mental illness who require assessment and treatment in hospital.
The ward also accepts young men aged in an emergency situation when there are no children and young people's services beds available.
The ward aims to provide comprehensive and holistic assessment and treatment in a safe and therapeutic environment.
This posts is an excellent opportunity for staff who are interested in facilitating the delivery of therapeutic activity within an inpatient environment alongside a strong Multi-Disciplinary Team.
You would be expected to take an active role in the implementation of Talk 1st and the Safe Ward interventions.
The post holder would work closely with the occupational therapy team, peer supporter and as part of the wider ward team.
The post holder will also undertake designated tasks from both nursing andOccupational Therapy treatment plans for identified individuals.
The Post holder will receive regular supervision from an identified supervisor within the ward team.
In conjunction with qualified nursing and Occupational Therapy staff, co-ordinate a timetable of activities on each area to be implemented by self and support worker staff.
To contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and modification of service users' interventions in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness.
