Summary

The Academy is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced administrator to join our team of Academy administrators and lead on all Admissions Processes for the Academy.

You will have a strong grasp of the admissions procedures for Academies, and understand the need for precision and confidence in this role.


The successful post holder will have ample opportunity to progress in this role within the Academy and with Harris as our group grows.

Central London (Clapham, Victoria) is 25 minutes away, whereas journeys from Kent and Surrey take just over 30 minutes by car.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Administration of Year 6 admissions into the Academy, including arranging the timetable and staffing for Admissions
  • Being the main point of contact for Admissions, Open Evening, Transition and other student Induction events
  • Organisation of Open Mornings and Evenings, including arranging publicity. Attending Open Evening to assist in the event and to give advice to parents on our Admissions
  • To be a key point of contact for the Academy's uniform supplier.
  • Ensuring that transition and enrolment with the Academy goes smoothly including sending out and collating relevant documentation, managing and archiving records, and developing relationships with feeder and local primary schools
  • Coordination of appeals, including collating and sending out appeals paperwork and providing relevant data to the appeals representative
  • Administration of inyear admissions, including arranging timetables and developing and implementing protocols, communicating with parents, previous schools and academy staff, and ensuring smooth induction
  • Supporting with offrolling and transferring leavers' files
  • Assisting with the transfer and receipt of student files (including SEND and Safeguarding records)

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to here from you if you have:

  • Qualifications to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Competent IT skills, including databases and Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in an administrative or front office/reception role
  • Excellent understanding of school attendance systems
  • Detailed understanding of pastoral support processes and issues
  • Good level of interpersonal and communication skills, with a good standard of written and spoken English
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks appropriately
  • Commitment to delivering excellent level of professional customer service
  • Ability to remain calm and deal with challenging callers or visitors in an appropriate manner
