    Description

    We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic individual to join our Bradford School of Art as a Lecturer for our Saturday Music Club.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced and passionate Music Tutor/Lecturer to run a weekly Saturday club for 13–16-year-olds. You will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students can develop their musical skills and explore their creativity. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented musician who enjoys working with young people and has a strong desire to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians.

    This position is to lead a 2 hour music club every Saturday morning.

    Responsibilities include:

    Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of music theory, music appreciation, and practical skills, tailored to the needs and abilities of 13–16-year-olds.

    Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that foster a love of music and encourage students to explore their musical potential.

    Provide individual and group music lessons, ensuring that each student receives personalised attention and guidance.

    Teach students how to play various musical instruments, such as guitar, piano, drums, or any other instrument based on your expertise.

    Instruct students in proper techniques, musical interpretation, and performance skills.

    Organise and facilitate regular rehearsals, preparing students for performances, recitals and competitions.

    Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and respect among students.

    Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help improve their skills.

    Stay updated on current trends and developments in music education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies into your lessons.

    Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and student evaluation.

    To be responsible to the Head of Department/Head of School for student discipline, counselling and guidance relating to all assigned classes

    To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.

    To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.

    To provide appropriate information to parents/employers through College reporting systems and open evenings

    To assist the Head of Department/Head of School with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified.

    To participate in the development of workshops, laboratories and facilities, where appropriate.

    To undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
