Salary H3 Grade:
£39,745 to £43,414 per annum with potential to progress to £51,805 per annum.


BIC has a portfolio of projects funded by the European Commission and Innovate UK to work with companies across Europe that are of industrial nature, in the sectors including transport, manufacturing and energy, and are looking to expand the team with a Research Fellow II.


  • A PhD in qualification in a numeric discipline such as Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Signal Processing or related disciplines.
  • Good mathematical, algorithmic and software development skills.
  • Strong proficiency in programming (OpenCV, Python, C, C++, C# and MATLAB).
  • Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to draft research papers for publication in academic journals and/or combination of industrial experience and/or training.
  • A high level of initiative and an ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Teamplayer and willingness to work on different projects.
  • Experience/willingness to mentor/supervise students and junior staff.
  • Excellent analytical capability.
