Bid Estimator - Salford Quays / Hybrid working available

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the estimating and pricing function within the bid team
  • Develop a clear understanding of pricing methodologies for individual vertical markets
  • Maintain and continuously develop a 'Bid Library' of key pricing information and knowledge
  • Independently develop professional relationships with prospects
  • Identify key messages and differentiators for proposals, to inform and implement lessons learned
  • Support in establishing, presenting, and implementing bid management process and documentation improvements.
  • Seek to continuously improve the quality output of bid submissions.
  • Support bid best practice on an industry and regional level to the Division
  • Regularly provide detailed reporting on activity to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Support in the continuous development of the Bid Department, generating more efficient ways of working and increasing the success rate of the team

Bid Delivery

  • Independently source relevant tender opportunities via Public Sector, Facilities Management, and customer portals
  • Provide comprehensive contract pricing overviews to the Senior Leadership Team for review and final sign off
  • Create and attend workwinning customer presentations
  • Support in effecting successful mobilisation postaward, supporting the Sales, Account Management and Operational Teams

About you:


We are looking for someone who has the energy, drive and enthusiasm to quickly grasp our business and the industry and marketplaces in which we operate.


  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other Office365 software, and a willingness to learn more
  • Excellent time management: with ability to manage multiple projects with timecritical deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to persuade, influence and challenge in a constructive manner and identify appropriate solutions
  • Strong writing and administration skills
  • A customer focus, delivering exceptional customer service

Desirable but not essential:


  • InDesign or other graphics software experience
  • APMP Foundation Level Certification
  • Relevant working experience within a similar role and/or industry
