Bus and Coach Mechanic

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire replacements, breakdowns and brake inspections on buses and coaches.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential problems before they lead to breakdowns or accidents.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and hours worked.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a bus and/or coach mechanic, preferably in a commercial or fleet maintenance setting.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment such as scan tools, multimeters, and hydraulic pressure gauges.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

£40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
