We have a new position for a Primary Teaching Assistant in a lovely school in the Bury St Edmunds area.

The position is to work in a class with 10 pupils with Special Educational needs.

We are looking for people who have a passion to help young people and some experience with Autism either from a personal perspective or professional environment working with young people.


The school offers fantastic facilities with large outdoor areas, new play areas, soft play rooms, sensory rooms and a large classrooms for creative and fun lessons.

The curriculum is tailored to the learning level of the pupils and there is a high level of support in the classes with 5 TAs and a Teacher.


The school have a strong team ethos and the TAs work together as a team so that they can create a nurturing environment for the pupils.

The role

  • Supporting the teacher to deliver lesson plans, tailored to each pupils level of learning
  • Working with pupils with mild and severe Autism and other special educational needs such as Global Development Delay and Downsyndrome
  • Helping with creative and dynamic lessons
  • Taking the pupils to additional sessions such as speech and language, drama therapy and art therapy
  • Safeguarding the pupils at all times
  • Keeping the classroom clean and tidy

This position has the opportunity to go temp to perm and is a long term contract.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temp to perm, Temporary contract


Salary:
£70.00-£90.00 per day
