    Job Title: Paediatric Nurse at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

    This is an exciting opportunity for Paediatric Nurses to join the Emergency Department team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to children and young people in need. The department has recently moved to a new purpose-built Urgent and Emergency Care development, providing a unique challenge and opportunity for growth.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver nursing and clinical care to patients

    Registered Nurses at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust work collaboratively to provide excellent patient care. You will have the chance to lead the department when senior staff are not available.

    Qualifications and Training:
    Essential:

    • Registered Children's Nurse (Level 1, RN8)

    Desirable:

    • Paediatric Immediate Life Support
    • Degree level qualification

    Experience:
    Essential:

    • Evidence of recent professional development
    • Experience in an acute paediatric setting

    Desirable:

    • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
    • Taking charge of an area and managing workload
    • Supervising students in practice

    Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
    Essential:

    • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and electronic
    • Ability to work under pressure and across competing demands
    • Effective team player
    • Enquiry and problem-solving skills
    • Provide evidence-based care
    • Undertake holistic assessments
    • Medicine management, including IV administration

    Desirable:

    • IV Cannulation Venepuncture
    • ECG recording
    • Competent in minor injury treatments and suturing
    • Work within departmental PGD's
