About the role
This role will support all areas of manufacturing, to help meet production schedules and work between departments this may include running automatic machinery as well as manual equipment /Processes


Operators may also be required to work alternative shift and/or 2 or 3 shift system when required to meet production targets.


  • The ability to read, understand and use engineering drawings to assemble product is a critical part of the role.
  • Perform intricate and detailed assembly and testing of various subassemblies using a variety of hand tools and equipment.
  • Responsible for their own quality ensuring no defects move to the next process, using Production drawings, SOS, Quality standards.
  • Responsible for outputs meeting cycle times in line with production schedules on an hourly / daily basis.
  • Carry out regular preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining high level of housekeeping within your department and be actively involved in 6's throughout all operational areas.
  • Actively involved and support continuous improvement programmes, i.e. Kaizen
  • Ensure all H&S regulations are adhered to and taking responsible for your own and others' H&S.
  • Actively support H&S awareness programmes along with site and process observations, using Hazob reporting system.
  • Operators must take responsibility to ensure all mandatory training is completed within the required timescales.
  • Support and be actively involved in production reporting to support the production processes and line supervision.
  • Support the accuracy and control of in process inventory (WIP) including stock accuracy levels.
  • Need to be flexible in supporting the business forecasting needs and be required to work alternative hours / shift patterns as and when business require.

Your Qualifications Education/Qualifications**- Desirable NVQ Level 2 Manufacturing Processes or BTEC Manufacturing Processes or relevant experience


Related Experience

  • Production / Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret SOS sheets and PLM drawings
  • Computer Literate
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Good Communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives without constant supervision to high standards
  • Work well under pressure
  • Exhibit teamwork
  • Good hand eye coordination high degree of manual dexterity
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools
