Our fabulous #TeamNLCSCumbernauld are on the lookout for creative, patient and understanding individuals with an ability to inspire and motivate to join our team in
Cumbernauld as
Support Practitioners.

We have various contracts available up to 30 hours per week.


This role will be covering the Cumbernauld area of North Lanarkshire where you'll be supporting young people in community settings and older people in their own homes.

With your help you will enable individuals to attend college, try new hobbies or build on life skills.


The Role
There is never a dull moment in our team.

As a Support Practitioner, you'll provide support in all aspects of daily living, including meal preparation, attending appointments, going shopping, maintaining their home, personal care and administering medication.

With a focus on building and maintaining independence, you'll help individuals develop a productive daily routine and pursue their hobbies and interests.

You'll encourage and support their choices and help them to build upon their practical life skills and maintain their health and wellbeing.


The people we support enjoy a social life and love getting involved in their community, going swimming, bowling out to the cinema and days out meeting up with friends.

Some of the people we support attend college.

To be a great
Support Practitioner, you will:


  • be a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality
- have an understanding of good team working and accountability
- be able to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with different people
- be an excellent communicator and problem-solver
- be confident in using IT to enhance the support you provide
- confident in assisting with behaviours that challenge in a safe, dignified manner and using Positive Behaviour Support strategies
- have good organisational and general administrative skills
- be reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the people we support


Shift Patterns


As we're dedicated to provide support 7 days a week, your rota will be made up 7 to 8 hours shift where you will support one individual a day.

Your shift pattern will also include weekends and public holidays. Typically shifts are between 8am and 9pm but vary according to the needs of the people we support.
