Mix Operator

Pay:
£11.55 per hour raised to £12.11 once trained.

Main Function:
Mixing of materials to supply to extruder floor.

Hours - Two-week rota

Week 1:
Mon-Thurs 06:00-14:00

Fri 06:00-11:00


Week2:
Mon-Thurs 14:00-22:00

Fri 11:00-16:00


Main purpose of the job:

  • Manufacture of material for supply to the extruder floor and bulk filing.
  • Ability to set up and operate specific machinery within the mixing area in a safe and effective manner.
  • To achieve the tasks set within and agreed time and effectively communicating progress to others.
  • Accurate recording of daily activity and material usage.
  • Participation in company wide and specific continuous improvement activities.

Specific responsibilities and activities:

  • Operating machinery
  • Responsible for monitoring the quality of the product produced.
  • Purge and clean out of mix machinery.
  • Ensuing the work area is kept clean and tidy and free from obstacles affecting the safe working conditions of others.
  • Recording of personal daily activity information.
  • Accurate recording of all production statistics including materials produced, downtime, changeovers and information directly attributable to the mixing area.
  • Reporting machine defects, or perceived defects to the production team leader.

Personal Specification:

  • FLT licence desirable
  • Ability to interpret detailed work orders and batch cards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to be trained in operation of mixing machinery.
  • Operate as part of a manufacturing team.
