This role is categorised as a _
_roam__ role. Roaming roles are a mixture of home and hub working with, in some instances, a degree of being out and about delivering services to customers. Your working day will be determined by what you need to do and where you need to go to maximise your productivity. This means that you could start and finish your day in different places depending on what you need to do, so we'll support you working from a variety of locations.

The Role:

You'll be responsible for the ongoing management, improvement and transformation of environments, both cloud hosted and physical.

You'll research and develop plans for improvement and ongoing optimisation of environments, as well as managing and maintaining accreditations such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.

As Cloud and Infrastructure Specialist, you'll transition from proof of concept through to live environment and prepare handover documentation and training to the business as usual support team.

You'll also ensure that the security and resilience of the business is maintained to the highest degree with robust and effective use of technology to support disaster recovery and Thirteen's BCP overall, escalating to 3rd party and vendors as required.

To succeed in the role, you'll ensure network stability on WAN\LAN\VPN\ZTNA support and diagnose issues, ensure DR and BCP are up to date and tested regularly

You'll also support:

Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SCCM, Intune, VMware, Citrix Xenapp\XenServer\Cloud\DaaS, as well as Cisco\Fortinet networking solutions, supporting a mix of physical and virtual environments running Windows Server and *NIX.

The Person:

With a broad background in IT service delivery, you'll have experience working within a team that utilises ITIL framework best practices, including abiding by the change management process, and responding to issues which may arise unexpectedly.

Your experience may include Microsoft Azure, Active Directory and related services running on both physical and virtual servers, VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Windows Server, Microsoft 365 platform, Intune, Citrix Xenapp\XenServer\Cloud\DaaS and networking topologies, utilising various products from vendors such as Cisco and Fortinet.

Knowledge of working with various back-up technologies would be advantageous.

Specialist knowledge of implementing, managing and maintaining network infrastructure and cloud based unified comms solutions would also be beneficial, as well as experience in migration of on-premise resources to cloud hosted Iaas\Saas\PaaS.

With experience managing projects and keeping within specified timeframes and budgets, you'll contribute to the overall IT project plan and providing regular updates to the Head of Cloud and Infrastructure.

You'll work well within a team and independently to meet key stakeholders across the business to evaluate and act upon their bespoke requirements.

Please note you'll need to work flexibly on occasion outside of normal business hours to cover call out and/or network maintenance or project delivery, and you'll also take part in an IT Resiliency rota approximately 4 times per year.
