General Role Description:


As an Associate ABA Consultant for acornABA Limited, you will design and oversee behavioural programmes for a variety of service users.

You will be clinically responsible for the provision of the service user and will oversee the implementation of the recommendations you make and will ensure that the programmes are implemented to a high standard adhering to the BACB ethical guidelines and standards.

As ABA Consultant you may be required to provide supervision to other professionals including Registered
Behaviour Technicians (RBTs), Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analysts (BCaBAs), Board Certified Behaviour
Analysts (BCBAs) and those pursuing certification through both the BACB and UKSBA.

As part of your role, you will be required to;

  • Work in collaboration with the Director, ensuring that all work completed under acornABA's company name, is done so in accordance to your contract and the policies and procedures as provided by acornABA Ltd.
  • Liaise with potential Clients prior to intake
  • Complete functional assessments of challenging and undesirable behaviours. This will include direct and indirect assessments using evidencebased tools agreed by acornABA Ltd.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate behaviour plans, using the practices and principles of applied behaviour analysis to increase functionally equivalent behaviours and proactively reduce challenging incidents.
  • Complete skills assessments using evidenced based procedures (e.g. VB Mapp, Essentials for Living etc.)
  • Use assessments results to assist in designing individualised learning plans that are Client specific and focus on socially significant, academically appropriate and meaningful programmes to address skill acquisition and behaviour reduction.
  • Train staff and parents on the implementation of learning and skills plans.
  • Model implementation of behavioural strategies and procedures during face to face consultations.
  • Oversee implementation of learning and skills plans, ensuring fidelity and quality of implementation using acornABA's fidelity checklists and other related documentation.
  • Maintain high quality documentation in line with acornABA's procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality of service users and company protocols.
  • Ensure all programmes are data driven and accurate data collection is maintained at all times.
  • Compose high quality and accurate progress reports on request using company headed paper at all times.
  • Attend annual review meetings at educational settings if requested and appropriate to do so.
  • Support families in securing funding for programmes on request, this may involve attendance at legal hearings such as special educational needs tribunals
  • Collaborate with professionals of different disciplines whilst ensuring to stay within boundaries of competence.
Associate
Role

  • Host workshops at the Client's home/school/nursery at a frequency mutually agreed by ABA Consultant and Client.
  • Ensure all resources for ABA targets are of a high standard and kept up to date, ensuring that responsibility for production is given to relevant party (e.g. family, tutors, school etc.)
  • Provide supervision to others, this may include RBTs, BCaBA's, BCBAs and those pursuing certification through the BACB or UKSBA.
You will invoice acornABA Ltd.

for time spent working on the Client's programme, and will only invoice for time previously agreed with the Client prior to completing the work.

- _As an Associate of acornABA Ltd, you will remain self-employed and as such will invoice acornABA Ltd. for the services you have delivered to the Client. _

In order to monitor the service you provide on behalf of acornABA Ltd., and to ensure thorough collaboration with the ABA Consultant, Sarah Walker will provide you with remote supervision at a frequency agreed between you and Sarah. This is complimentary as part of the role, and therefore you will not be charged for this supervision. You will also be invited to join monthly peer supervision groups as a member of the acornABA team and will be expected to contribute to the discussions as well as host sessions on occasion. _
