The role
As a Project Controls Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.
You will play a vital role in providing through-life support for the Royal Navy, covering all Surface Combatants (Type 23s) and the Amphibious-class vessels within the Support Value Stream of Babcock's Marine Sector (Marine Support).
Day-to-day, you'll provide programme-level support in core project control competencies independently across the Type 23 (T23) and Amphibious (Amphib) class vessels, in addition to supporting the development of Portfolio Management Office (PMO) processes and responsibilities as part of programme and business management.
- Develop/implement and maintain the Project Baseline. Budgets including Control Account Plans/Responsibility Assignment Matrix and WBS Dictionary (SOW)
- Develop/baseline and maintain the Level 13 Project integrated schedule
- Develop and maintain Project Risk (Threat & Opportunity) Registers and manage the mitigation actions
- Implementation of change management process on the project and assurance of alignment with the business/contractual requirements
- Provision of weekly and monthly performance reports and associated analysis/narrative
- Assist in the management of subprojects/key project issues
Essential experience of the Project Controls Officer,
- Extensive recent and relevant experience in a Project Control environment.
- Awareness of various contracting methodologies.
- Application of project control toolsets including demonstrable experience and knowledge of project performance analysis and reporting variance analyses (including an awareness of Earned Value Management, EVM).
- Knowledge and experience in the use of commercially available Enterprise Project Controls systems
- Schedule Variance /Cost Variance, Trend Analysis, Change Control Management.
- Full project lifecycle experience from bid phase through to close out.
