    Job Title: Staff Nurse (Band 5)

    Salary: £31,850 - £36,155 plus geographical allowance and enhancements for unsocial hours

    Team: In-House Care Team

    Hours: 37.5hrs across the 7-day week

    About Shooting Star Children's Hospices

    We have an exciting opportunity for a nurse wanting to expand there palliative and complex care knowledge to join our team at Shooting Star Children's Hospices.

    Shooting Star Children's Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. Rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

    At the heart of what we do are our dedicated staff; their exceptional commitment and professionalism means every family has the opportunity to make every moment count .

    It's a great time to join Shooting Star Children's Hospices as we have recently increased our bed numbers and expanded our bereavement offer to support all families in Surrey and to the West of London whose child has died.

    About the role

    The post-holder will be part of a multi professional team providing holistic care and support for children with life limiting condition and their families.

    The post-holder will work in collaboration with the family and other services providing care and support for the family.

    The role includes active involvement in the education, training and professional development of other team members including volunteers.

    The Shooting Star Children's Hospices care service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The post holder will be required to work a variety of shifts across the 24 hours.

    About you

    This role requires the successful candidate to hold a RN Child/Learning Disabilities or Adult NMC registration.

    To have recent experience of working in a clinical setting.

    Ideally you will have experience of working with children who have complex care needs and/or a palliative diagnosis.

    You will also have an ability to think on your feet and problem solve in a fast-paced clinical environment.
