Facilities Officer ApprenticeshipWe are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join the team as a Facilities Officer Apprentice. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain practical experience and a nationally recongised qualification.
Facilities Management plays a significant part in the delivery of services to our customers on a day-to-day basis, focusing on optimising the use of and management of all property, buildings and workplaces on the MoD estate.
Supporting all aspects of day-to-day hard and soft facilities management services including contract and supplier management, in addition to the planning and delivery of an extensive maintenance / minor works programme.
On this 18-month Facilities Management Apprenticeship scheme, you'll be immersed in the DIO from day one.Fast paced and rewarding, this Apprenticeship will allow you to make your mark on a global organisation, while building connections with talented people across our business.
From the beginning, you'll be given a mentor to provide useful tips and guidance on your work and career whenever you need it.
You will also be given a full induction on how the DIO functions as a business, become an integral part of our Apprenticeship Academy, and of course, discover how your role plays a crucial part in driving a culture and community of advancement and continuous improvement.
We will link you up with other Apprentices who you can meet and connect with, give you the opportunity to participate in bi-annual apprenticeship events and get involved with our many networks such as Race, Gender, LBGT+, Faith and Mental Health to really give you that all-round feeling of the culture in our business.
Person specification:
As the Facilities Officer you will support your team; working with them to assure compliance relating to policy, instructions and guidance.
Building strong collaborative, professional working relationships both within your team, with other teams across DIO & the wider MOD, to provide the continued level of support needed across a diverse estate in support of Defence.
Collating information and preparing reports in support of reporting and assurance activities.
Providing support to maintain all DIO Business as Usual Operational Requirements & respond assist management requests to support changing departmental priorities.
- Work towards a Level 3 Facilities Management Supervisor Diploma
- Be supported by your DIO Line Manager, dedicated Apprenticeship Scheme Manager and Mentor as well as your UCEM Tutors and Apprenticeship Outcome Officer
- Receive 6 hours per week off the job training
- Opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across multiple teams in DIO
During your Apprenticeship, we'll support your technical development through a range of on-the-job experiences, putting what you're learning in the classroom into practice in your day job.
