Cinema Projection - Coventry, United Kingdom - University of Warwick

    Default job background
    Full time, Permanent
    Description

Warwick Arts Centre is looking for a motivated, passionate, inclusive, collaborative and technically skilled Cinema Projection & AV Technician to join the team. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels they belong, a place of fairness and equity and to be an organisation that reflects the diversity of its city. If this sounds like somewhere you would like to work, we would like to hear from you.

You will be an active member of the Technical team, and play a pivotal role in bringing events to life, supporting the delivery of all technical aspects of both our live program and our cinema screenings and events. You will work closely with the Senior Projection & AV Technician to ingest content, adverts and create playlists at Warwick Arts Centre's three digital cinemas, whilst supporting the wider Technical team's AV requirements across the wide range of events that take place across our multi-venue Arts Centre. It is essential that you are a collaborative, positive and pro-active individual who also has a good understanding of projection and AV.

In this role, you'll specialise in live cinema projection, digital technologies, audiovisual, and simple sound operations, all within the context of the performing arts. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of technical presentation for all events while maintaining a keen awareness of health and safety regulations.

Flexibility is key in the event industry, and you'll need to be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Please note a 5% availability allowance is included in the advertised salary scale.

    About You

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a passion for film and technology to join a multi-versatile Technical team. If you have some experience of live cinema or AV, this might have been as part of another arts organisation, or conference team then please do consider applying.

We are looking for someone who works well independently and as part of a team, who can keep themselves motivated and is interested in developing relationships with our customers, acting as an ambassador for the Arts Centre.

Warwick Arts Centre is a department of the University, and the successful candidate will be employed by the University of Warwick.

    About the Department

Warwick Arts Centre is the largest multi art form Arts Centre outside London. We are one of the region's leading learning, visual arts, cinema and performing arts venues. We work with exceptional artists and creatives from the city, region and globally delivering a programme that reflects our local and global context. As an Arts Centre on a University campus, our ambition is to develop programmes which speak to and reach our audiences on campus, in the city of Coventry and the wider region. Our city is one of the most ethnically diverse and youngest in Europe our goal is to reflect this through our work and the people we employ.

    What we offer

We will provide you with a great range of benefits, which include an attractive pension scheme, 26 days holiday plus customary & statutory day allowance. Potential overtime and BECTU get out payments. Excellent learning and development opportunities, and savings on a wide range of products and services. We offer a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave.
