About the team:


The Capital Works team are responsible for delivering WDH's capital reinvestment programme and associated planned property maintenance projects to ensure WDH properties are refurbished and improved in line with set standards, specifications, and requirements.


The team have their own internal service provider (ISP) workforce and utilise a variety of sub-contractors to complete works within the programme.

Much of the work includes the replacement of defective roofs, kitchens and bathrooms, external wall treatments including insulation (to provide more energy efficient homes for customers), rendering as well as grinding and pointing brickwork.

Other projects include major environmental works to create off street parking and improve the aesthetic looks of our estates, sustainability initiatives for a more energy efficient portfolio of assets and the renewal of the organisations Independent Living Schemes which provide modern, quality homes with innovative communal living spaces to meet the changing needs of a vulnerable society.


What we're looking for:


The Capital Works service is looking for a qualified Painter and Decorator to join our established team and work closely with their respective colleagues to deliver a variety of retrofit construction works to benefit WDH communities and the local area.

You will be an energetic, driven and committed individual who can take on a wide range of tasks and complete these to ensure works are completed safely within financial, operational and customer service performance targets.

What you'll be doing:


Primarily, you will be working within a team of tradespeople completing kitchen replacement works, supporting the delivery of our capital reinvestment programme.

You will utilise your painting and decorating skills daily and will be expected to multi-skill where required.

The core hours of the role are 37 hours, 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work flexibly between 8am and 8pm (including some weekend working). A current, valid UK driving license is also an essential requirement of the role.
