Turning Passion into Purpose This department provides advice and support for students on a wide range of non-academic and educational needs. The department aims to enable all students to achieve their potential while studying, by providing an approachable and reliable service that students can trust.

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will be the first point of contact for all incoming enquiries; providing a timely response.

This can sometimes involve thinking on your feet to find a creative solution to a problem and going the extra mile to provide excellent customer service to members of our community.


This role will work with all members of the team and areas of work to maintain the administrative processes and team support needed to ensure activities run smoothly.

Our work is diverse, in a week you could be coordinating the involvement of alumni volunteers for a careers talk, connecting a former student with an academic to open up a new partnership, or helping with an alumni event.

As a result, you will gain experience and understanding of all aspects of an alumni team.


About You:

An interest and enthusiasm for supporting alumni work in a University

  • Highly effective and customer focused interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems with attention to detail to record actions and administer activity being aware of Data Protection requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, demonstrating ability to work unsupervised generating high quality accurate work whilst prioritising a diverse workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Experience in identifying practical and customer focused solutions
  • Experience of emarketing platforms in creating and editing clear and inspiring marketing communications.
  • IT and data management skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, experience of working with data.
