Due to succession planning and development we are now looking for an energetic and self motivated individual, whom is able to work on their own initiative and as part of the wider business team, with good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in order to get the job done.

It would also be an advantage to be a good problem solver.

This position will be based in the manufacturing areas as part of the Quality team.

Key areas of Accountability

Working with the production team
Responsible for auditing factory food safety and quality checks including: metal detection, temperature checks, weight checks, traceability, packaging and labelling as well as batch coding
Responsible for auditing the completion of factory traceability paperwork
Prepare and collect samples for laboratory testing including: swabs, product, water, raw materials etc
Conduct product quality checks against specification including: colour, taste, inclusions (wash out tests), volumetric tests etc
Assist with enforcing GMP hygiene controls
Support with quality/food safety control including putting product on hold in liaison with both the production and technical teams
Support with product launches
Support with calibration of probes, scales and other equipment as required against schedule
Assist in preparations for and during audits e.g. BRC and customers
Support in training of factory personnel on procedures/systems and briefings
Assist in investigations e.g. customer complaints, nonconformances or micro
Reporting and highlighting quality/food safety concerns to relevant personnel
Support factory staff where appropriate and required

Skills and Experience - Essential

Experience working within a food manufacturer, ideally ice cream/chilled
Accuracy, attention to detail and numerate approach to provide data on time in the right format.
Time management, be able to work on own initiative both solo and as a team.
Confident, articulate and courteous communicator over the phone, facetoface and in writing.
Highly flexible, competent and adaptable and takes responsibility for own improvement.
Undertakes tasks with enthusiasm and always takes pride in his/her work. Communicates effectively at all levels, considers others' opinions and always treats others with respect.
