Description
Our client is on the hunt for an Offshore Surveyor to be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the online survey system, and the execution, monitoring and reporting of all survey operational tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting Senior survey personnel in the documenting of Client issued, company or operational data, calibrations, logs and reports
- Monitoring data backup systems
- Ensuring the safe and effective direction of daytoday survey operations in accordance with contractual requirements and instruction from the Party Chief or senior survey personnel
- Informing offshore departments of operational planning
- Providing advice during periods of Project preparation (equipment & software) ensuring completeness of supplied geodetic data / coordinate information
- Supervising setup of survey software including confirmation of geodesy settings and conducting test point transformations. Ensuring that all settings comply with project procedures
- Ensuring that all collected data is of the highest standard and is gathered in accordance with contractual and company specifications
- For the accurate and complete logging, quality control and maintenance of survey data and operational logs in accordance with operational requirements
- Install and configure technical software packages
- Interpret data quality criteria
- Set up online systems
- Plan and undertake the calibration of the survey system and sensors
- Calculate tidal and water column parameters for use within the survey system project
- Install and configure positioning systems
- Calibrate positioning systems
- Calculate and adjust survey observations
- Demonstrate an understanding of survey principles and how they are used for planning surveys
QUALIFICATIONS
- Nationally recognised relevant academic qualification
- Current offshore medical, survival and safety certification
- 2+ Years of online survey experience
- Experience with Eiva Navisuite packages
- IT literate and comfortable with simple PC networking and software maintenance
- Right to live and work in the UK
