Job Title:
Security Shift Supervisor


Role Overview:
To maintain the security and life safety of the client's staff, assets and reputation.


Responsibilities:


  • Liaison with the Mitie pool team to ensure suitable support officers are allocated to the DB estate in order to ensure contractual manning requirements are fulfilled.
  • Day to day allocation and implementation of duties for rostered security officers in accordance with Assignment Instructions (A.I's) and any additional manning requirements that have been previously arranged or are deemed necessary due to unforeseen situations.
  • Ensure that all security officers are in possession of a valid SIA licence or letter of dispensation before being booked on for duty, confirming this by signing the relevant D.O.B.
  • Provide first line incident investigation and supervision in response to security and life safety situations when required.
  • Maintain written communication in accordance with A.I's.
  • Escalate and report any/all security breaches to line management / CSBC management in accordance with A.I's.
  • Adhere to the Equal Opportunities/Health and Safety policies on behalf of both Mitie and the client.
  • Provide necessary documentation to security officers in order to communicate change of circumstance to MITIE back office functions.
  • Assuming the role of Duty Security Manager when required and adequate training received, effectively assuming all roles and responsibilities as per the Duty Security Manager's job description.
  • Maintain WP+ rostering tool to ensure all posts are manned with appropriate security staff.
  • Report immediately any/all equipment faults to the relevant vendor, providing correct details and in a timely manner.
  • Carry out regular post visits throughout each shift to ensure supervisory oversight and security officers' adherence to A. I's.
  • Carry out and document monthly welfare visits for all security officers in conjunction with the Duty Security Manager.
  • Issue daily security briefs to all rostered security officers to inform them of any ongoing or upcoming events of interest.
  • Carry out daily unlocks of client dining area and confirm to Duty Security Manager when complete.
  • Assume role of Assembly Area Marshall/Manager in the event of an emergency evacuation.
  • Remain vigilant at all times to safeguard the security of all personnel and assets within each DB premises.
  • Deal with the client and the client's staff in a professional, effective and customer engaging manner.
  • At all times ensure that the building(s) under your care are well presented, clean and tidy, in good repair and condition by way of reporting maintenance issues as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist with emergency building evacuations when necessary.
  • Ensure that the logbooks for each building(s) under your care are present, completed and up to date by way of daily checks / post visits and sign each book to confirm this.
  • Maintain clear, concise radio and telephone communication to colleagues and management at all times.
  • Assist with the management of any HR issues requiring action on the Deutsche Bank contract as directed by and in conjunction with the Duty Security Manager, inclusive of formal interviews, investigations and disciplinaries.
  • Provide first aid if required when responding to an emergency medical situation.
  • Remain alert to local events which potentially impact business operations.
  • Ensure full compliance of audit requirements by way of following current processes in place.
  • Remain proactive in your approach to the role and escalate any concerns you may have to management.
  • Any other duty deemed relevant by line management / contract management.

The Security Supervisor position requires a flexible approach to responsibilities in order to meet the fluctuating demands of the client.


Authority:


The Security Supervisor has the authority to:

  • Recommend changes to existing instructions in order to maintain the Security and Safety of the Clients property, premises or staff.
  • Recommend for promotional positions any security officers through either competency or qualification.
  • Recommend for disciplinary action to be taken against any member of the rostered security staff believed to be in breach of assignment instructions or management request.
  • Carry out initial investigation into the conduct or breaches of behaviour of any Mitie Security Officer allocated to their authority.
