As part of their growth strategy; this SEN Group of schools is really pleased to be opening a brand new Secondary ASC/SEMH school in Autumn 2023 in
Torton, Kidderminsterfor students aged between 11-19.
They are currently looking for a Deputy Headteacher to join us in April 2023 to support with the creation, opening and running of a successful ASC provision in the Kidderminster area.
The building will be redeveloped; so you'll be expected to play a key role in the design, look and feel of the school to ensure it fulfils its potential of an amazing learning environment with the facilities to allow students to access a varied curriculumin a calm and nurturing environment with a team that strives to give every student the confidence and opportunities to achieve.
The role:
We are looking for an inspirational and engaging Deputy Headteacher who shares our commitment and vision in providing an ambitious and therapeutic, person-centred learning environment for our students with ASC/SEMH needs.
Working collaboratively with the Headteacher, you will have knowledge, experience, and interpersonal skills to develop our school in accordance with our shared values and development plans.
You will also lead manage and deputise for the Headteacher on siteand off site as and when required as well as occasionally carrying out the professional duties of a class teacher as required.
Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status with further professional qualification in a relevant area.
- Experience of working as a senior leader within an SEMH environment
- A clear understanding of Ofsted frameworks and Safeguarding legislation in relation to independent schools.
- Evidence of major whole school responsibilities and experience of turning policy into effective and successful practice
- Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school
- Experience of working with and involving school governors/trustees or executives
You will be instrumental in the recruitment and building of your entire team (who all need to be in place by August 2023) and the design and implementation of a brand new curriculum.
To achieve in this role you will be someone who inspires creativity and collaboration, a strong leader and a passionate advocate for your students, finding ways to deliver educational outcomes that make a real difference to them.
