The Centre for Epidemiology and Planetary Health in Inverness is seeking a Laboratory Technical Support Officer to assist with the general day to day running and maintenance of the laboratory, ensuring a high standard of health and safety and providing technicalsupport to the small team of laboratory scientists.

This post will help to ensure that the delivery of laboratory components of research and surveillance projects are delivered to time and required standards.


The Inverness Campus is undergoing significant growth and development and this role will also support laboratory activities as part of teaching and training pursuits for undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes.

The post holder may have direct contactwith students and be expected to provide technical support to allow others to support student learning, both across the SRUC Inverness campus and, in time, across the Department/Faculty.


To be considered for the role, you should have a good general standard of education and have experience of undertaking a range of technical support activities.

Applicants should have an understanding of health and safety policies and procedures relevantto the role and an interest in developing laboratory skills.

Excellent organisational skills and communication skills are essential.

The is a permanent, full time role of 37 hours per week.
