Biosciences is one of the world's foremost centres for research and teaching in the biological sciences and one of the largest Divisions within UCL, undertaking a significant amount of research and teaching.

In the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology research and teaching address all areas of neuroscience, pharmacology and physiology.


Our educational activity includes several undergraduate programmes, an expanding number of Masters Programmes and a substantial number of postgraduate research students; areas of teaching range from autonomic pharmacology, to cell signalling, understanding the underlying causes of neurological diseases and drug development, all delivered to an international, diverse and outstanding student body.

About the role:


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology with the aim to deliver a range of existing modules, while building up to a strategic role working with the department to shape the future of the programme with an aim of stepping into the role of deputy lead of the Pharmacology programme.


You will work with the Head of Teaching, the Pharmacology degree program lead and other members of the Department to define your portfolio of responsibilities.

About you:


You will be an integral part of the teaching delivery for the MSci and BSc pharmacology degree programmes and of the Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology as a whole.

You will step into a highly regarded degree program, and you will foster critical and independent thought by delivering innovative teaching of lectures, practical sessions, workshops, tutorials and assessments in a range of modules.


You also have the chance to develop your own portfolio of teaching activities in one of the areas of interest outlined above and to help shape the future content and structure of the pharmacology degree program.

You will be an engaged member of the Department, the Division and the university and part of our active and supportive team of lecturers for teaching.


You will build relationships with your close colleagues and the wider teaching community at UCL, share knowledge and innovation by discussions in team meetings and by taking part in conferences and community events.

You will actively engage with our international, diverse and outstanding student body by becoming a personal tutor and taking part in our student staff consolatory committee meetings.
