£32,000 - £35,000 per year, negotiable on salary depending on experience


Location:
Thornton Cleveleys


Hours:40 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8:15am-17:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 16:00pm

Main Purpose of Job:


To carry out effective resource planning for the Company that ensure workshop projects, are completed on time and within budget.


Be highly organised, liaising with the relevant management to ensure that the resource plan is always current, deliverable and on track.


Challenging workshop teams when deadlines are in danger of slipping and agree on alternative solutions to ensure deadlines are met.


Employee shall work in accordance to Company guidelines adhering to and fulfilling the requirements of all network rail standards and complying with Health, Safety and environmental legislation and procedures.


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 2 years resource planning experience

Desirable Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of engineering

Principle Duties:


  • Estimating the budget, cost and quantity of materials, human labour and other tools necessary for the completion of each project
  • Play an integral part in the scheduling of resources to projects, ensuring all customers receive the best service possible
  • Ensure sufficient resources are assigned to projects, for the right amount of time, so that production teams can meet customer deadlines
  • Ensure that resources are scheduled to projects, in line with customer deadlines in the most efficient and effective way
  • Communicating regularly with other departments regarding production schedules and agree on resource changes, when deadlines are under threat
  • Using computer technology relating to enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Observe and comply with correct Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policy and all Network Rail standards at all times
  • Conduct and complete duties to a high standard and maintain a professional approach to employees and customers alike
  • Increase knowledge across the company by promoting and sharing of best practices

Required Skills:


  • Strong analytical and logical skills
  • Good communication and delegation skills
  • Being proficient with computer software related to planning responsibilities
  • Good budgeting skills and commercial awareness
