    Description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property Department, supporting Estates Division Ninewells Team and the wider Department, for a full-time Departmental Secretary based in Ninewells Hospital on a 9 month fixed term/secondment contract.

We are looking for a staff member who is skilled in Microsoft Office, to join our team of Departmental secretaries, who will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Senior Officers and Management Team within the Property Department. This post will support Ninewells Hospital Estates Division plus the wider Department on a regular basis, work to tight deadlines and have the ability to prioritise workloads. Working knowledge of data input to an electronic payroll system would be beneficial but full training will be provided.

You should possess SVQ Level 3 in Administration, HNC (or equivalent NHS relevant experience) and demonstrate an ability to work in a flexible manner. We will also expect the postholder to work against a background of continual change within the Facilities Directorate.

Informal enquiries to: Connie Trayner, PA to Associate Director of Facilities - Property, Property Department Telephone ext 33936.

You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment. Information on the Healthcare Support Worker Regulations can be found on NHS Tayside microsite on Staffnet>Our Websites>Healthcare Support Workers.

Hours of work are: 37 per week (8am – 4pm)

Internal Applicants – written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly including your junk/spam folder.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
