A returning client of mine in the aerospace logistics industry is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team.
As the Finance Manager you will own and manage the provision of finance information to the EMEA business and Group HQ in the UK.
As an essential member of the team the role will include activities such as month end, annual budgeting, operational and businessanalysis, year end audits and ad hoc projects defined by the business.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for statutory reporting, where you will be preparing and submitting VAT returns for both UK entities, management accounting, developing budgets andfinancial plans, cash management and capital reports, taxation and regulation, treasury management, controls and procedures, systems, supplier management and people management where you will be a mentor and coach other staff.

- Prepare and Submit VAT returns for both UK entities. Liaise with German audit team to prepare German VAT returns
- Create monthly accounts to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
- Prepare management report pack for the UK and Germany senior management team.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
- Produce flash sales, cash management and working capital reports.
- Review Corporation tax computations and produce and submit local Tax return.
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
- Keep the cash flow forecast up to date as and when new information presents itself.
- Produce a cash flow forecast on a weekly basis and present it to local management.
- Ensure that the operating businesses have appropriate cash and purchasing controls in place.
- Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
- Ensure that all prices are accurately recorded and detailed uniformly to ensure that appropriate margins are being maintained and to ensure sales analysis can be compared like for like.
- From time to time, reunderline the company's policies to the operating businesses.
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
- Ensure the maintenance and development of supplier relations and actively participate in the negotiation of rates with key suppliers.
- Lead and inspire the staff within the team, acting as a role model, mentor and coach.
- Set clear objectives, directly linked to the business strategy, and guide the team to achieve defined targets and performance standards.
- Ensure the team is designed optimally, ensuring sufficient organisational efficiency.
- Drive employee engagement and team cohesion.
Finance Manager - About you
- Qualified Accountant
- ACCA/CIMA or equivalent will consider Qualified by experience with good business partnering skills.
- Good understanding of accounting practices & terminology required
- Good working knowledge of finance systems
