Cromwood Housing is a Registered Provider of Social Housing with offices in London and Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, dynamic, and commercially astute organisation committed to expanding the supply of affordable housing.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Housing Surveyor to join our team. In the role you will undertake inspections to determine if a property is suitable to purchase or lease. You will be identifying all works required to bring property up to suitable standard.

The role also involves undertaking programmed property inspections to identify future costs likely to be incurred to help inform the financial forward plan.

You will also undertake void inspections to identify all works required to enable the property to be re-let.


Location:
London, E5 9BQ with travel in the London area

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm

Salary:
£55,000 per annum, with the opportunity of an additional performance award

Housing Surveyor duties include:


  • To undertake procurement inspections to decide whether Cromwood should purchase or lease the property.
  • Make a recommendation and identify all works needed to bring it up to the required standard.
  • Responsible for inspecting properties to diagnose defects and to prepare a report on the works required.
  • Carry out inspections of properties when they become empty to determine what works are required to enable the property to be relet.
  • To inspect properties following works being carried out to sign these off as complete.
  • To undertake programmed inspections to help identify future repair costs or liabilities.

Housing Surveyor requirements:


  • A proven record of property inspections, defect diagnosis and reporting
  • Experience in assessing repairs to tenanted properties
  • Qualification in construction or experience in carrying out works would be desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of the building works and how defects are remedied
  • Good knowledge of the cost of works
  • Good knowledge of landlord responsibilities for compliance
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Good communicator who can work well with partners and builders
  • A valid driving licence is essential
