    Overview

    Mimecast are excited to be hiring an experienced Public-Sector Sales Manager to 'Build, Lead & Grow' our Public-Sector GTM sales team. Mimecast have enjoyed significant success with UK Public Sector organisations and are now looking for a Public Sector Leader, to lead a newly formed public sector GTM team from the front.

    The Public-Sector Sales Team will be responsible for retention, expansion and acquisition of;

    • Central Government
    • Local & Regional Government
    • Public Health & Care Sector
    • Blue Light Services
    • Higher Education
    • Public Housing Associations

    The successful candidate will join the senior leadership team in the UK&I and report directly to the VP UK&I. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing company requiring someone self-motivated, a strong team player, with a proven track record of selling into UK&I Public Sector over several years.

    What You'll Do:

    • Develop and execute against an agreed plan for the Public Sector GTM, focused on aggressive growth within the UK&I
    • Be an inspired leader, leading a team of 6 AE's from the front, by being authentic, engaged and in the field with the team driving Mimecast's ambition
    • Be front and centre building strategic working relationships across the Public Sector, understanding requirements, provide effective solutions to meet the market
    • Proactively lead the Channel Partner eco system, working closely with the partner community to maximise Mimecast's presence and mindshare
    • Proactive collaborate within a matrixed organisation to ensure the Public Sector organisation is correctly represented within the UK&I
    • Assume full ownership of the operational cadence of the Public Sector team, ensuring the team meet the aspirational goals for the Public Sector for the UK&I
    • Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management on the progress against targets and identifying areas for improvement
    • Systematically evaluate approaches that enable Mimecast to expand within the Public Sector market -- Retention of customer, expansion of customer, and acquisition of new customer
    • Assume full responsibility for Public Sector Revenue, Support and Product deliverable targets
    • Demonstrate thought leadership of the Public Sector (internally & externally) through whitepapers, webinars, events, speaking engagements, point of view content, and industry best practices
    • Commit to continuous personal development, to include training & enablement programmes to continuously develop product, market & competitive knowledge, across the Public Sector team

    What You'll Bring:

    • A strong history of individual sales performance, strong team player, with proven leadership experience
    • Experience as a Sales Manager responsible for the performance and results of Individual Contributors.
    • Demonstrable ambition and energy to build and lead a high-performance sales team, with a vision to dominate the UK Public Sector market
    • Degree level education (preferred but not required)
    • Demonstrable success at building a robust & repeatable Operating Model to drive predictable and sustained results, enabling scale easily as we grow our Public-Sector business
    • Proven examples of successfully building and leveraging Channel partnerships to significantly broaden reach and accelerate time to market.
    • Broad general knowledge of the high-technology industry with understanding of customer security architectures, cyber security landscape and technologies, Cloud & SaaS delivery models, regulatory drivers for information management strategies and knowledge of Public Sector purchasing processes
    • Experience engaging C-Level contacts within customers and prospects
    • Confident in becoming an expert at delivering Mimecast story and strategy to a high standard via Whiteboards, Presentations and Speeches
    • Demonstrable sales success across at least HE/FE, LRG/CG & HA & NHS within the UK Public Sector
    • Understanding of solution selling methodologies (E.g. Force Management, SPIN Selling, MEDDIC, Powerbase Selling, Challenger Selling, etc.)
