The Hereford operation is the major European production facility in PCC Energy Group and we now have a new and exciting opportunity for two (2) Technical Administrators/ Supports to join the SMW team.


Role Overview:


The primary working objective of this role will be to proactively facilitate, co-ordinate the technical data for the manufacturing engineering team, learning the full process of the site and be the driver for optimising the waste of the process throughout SMW; also including the administration and facilitation of SMW process control, including but not limited to pre-production activities (ITPs, SOPs, PIMs), progress tracking.


This role will also play a pivotable role in supporting the continuous improvement of the process and technology of the business and build a basis to develop into a manufacturing engineer.

Essential Functions:

This role is primarily responsible for day to day running of the following:

  • Technical SOP creation and modifications.
  • RFT tracking and administration.
  • Data collection.
  • Running of regular reports to send out within the business.
  • Maintaining electronic records of material disposition (MSC2N).
  • Vetting of production processes.
  • Administration of PFMEA/ 8D's.
  • Conduct specific projects in timescales agreed with the respective Manager.
  • Abide by company Health and Safety Policy and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with cardinal rules of Quality.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Company Environmental Policy.
  • Attend training sessions and develop relevant knowledge and skills commensurate with role.

Additional Responsibilities:


Additionally, the role supports the manufacturing engineers from time to time or when there is a gap in the resource.


  • Work on project to improve the quality of processes.
  • Cover reporting on metrics when required.
  • Represent ME in situations requiring cross functional support.
  • Data analysis for Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.
  • The role is key and influential, expectation to return meaningful and measurable value towards the business.

Education/ Qualifications/ Experience:

-
Essential:_

  • Degree level or equivalent in a STEM or manufacturing field.
  • Minimum of 25 years in a manufacturing environment required.

Desirable:_

  • Yellow belt six sigma certification

Essential Skills/ Knowledge:


  • Competent in the use of MS Office, including a proficiency in excel.
  • Experience of manufacturing engineering tools (problem solving tools, MSA, 8D, SPC).
  • Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate willingness to succeed in the face of adversity.
  • Ability to problem solve "Right to left thinking" (RTLT).
  • Proven to be able to comfortably work and communicate in cross functional teams.
  • Technical writing and understanding.
  • Ability to work with the shopfloor to find resolution on problems.

Desirable Skills/ Knowledge:


  • Experience of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for retention of documented information.
  • Understanding of PowerBI and Power Query and building dashboard.
