One of our community primary schools in WF2- Wakefield are looking for a SEND Support Worker to join their team and working within a 1:1 role each morning with child with ASD and PDA.The afternoon session is working as a general classroom teaching assistantworking within the Early Years department.


The role of the 1:1 support worker needs to be someone who is not phased by behaviours that are challenging and confident using de-escalation techniques where necessary.

This role suits a confident and experienced person who can take the time to build arelationship with him.

  • Experience working as a SEND Support Worker
  • Team Teach trained (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with young people with SEND
  • Experience using positive and effective behaviour management strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • DBS that is on the DBS update service (or be prepared to undertake a new DBS with Provide Education)
