We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with wide experience in working with primary age children with complex physical, developmental and sensory needs.

Applicants need to be an experienced and qualified HTLA, who will be working with our client who is a delightful 4 year old who has a wide range of complex physical and sensory needs.

She lives with her supportive and committed family with whom you will be working closely.

They live in the Settle area of North Yorkshire in their family home which has been extensively and effectively adapted to meet her needs including separate areas where educational activities and therapy can take place.

We require someone can evidence recent experience of working in a specialist early years or primary setting with children who have complex medical, communication, sensory and physical needs and learning disabilities.

You will need to have a minimum of L4 HLTA Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning and be able to provide evidence of relevant work experience and any post qualifying training you have undertaken.

You will receive support from an Independent Education Adviser and independent therapists who work with our client to implement, review and revise the home education programme of learning, communication and therapeutic activities as our client develops.

You will be expected to support activities outside of the home as needed.

An appropriately skilled support worker will be on shift when you are working with our client to manage all of her clinical and care needs but there will be an expectation for you to assist with some manual handling when required.

We are looking for someone to work 18 hours a week. Working hours will be between 9:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday to include planning, preparation, assessment and record keeping time.

HLTA:

The salary is £27, £30,296.00 Annually (0.5 Full Time Equivalent) Pro rata to 18 hours a week 192 days a year.

The salary is dependent on qualifications, experience and is term time only (39-week contract). Overtime in school holidays would be available and can be discussed at interview.

The post will start in September 2024 and become substantive on completion of a satisfactory probation period.
