Our client, an international bank based in London is looking for a fluent Arabic Teller to join them on a permanent basis.


Purpose of the role - The incumbent is mainly responsible for providing various cash based services to customers over the counter.

The bank's primary contact with the public and responds to customer inquiries and requests for a range of standard transactions and services.

Requires a basic understanding of consumer products. Receives money from customers and disburses money to them, and records transactions in accordance with well-defined policies and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

  • Carry out branch cash and other teller-related transactions in a timely and efficient manner to facilitate achievement of pre-approved branch targets.
  • Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent
  • To assist customers in all their queries on Bank's product and seek solution to their requests
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control and Risk Functions as and when required.
  • Process transactions (cash, checks, remittance requests, credit card and loan payments etc) in compliance with the approved policies/ procedures
  • Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the documents.
  • Identify suitable opportunities to crosssell products or services offered to customers and refers customers to appropriate sales team.
  • Authorize transactions within the range delegated to the incumbent.
  • Performs basic over the counter processing of transactions.
  • Answers routine questions and provides standard information.
  • Forward all clearing items and remittance requests received from customers to the concerned department.
  • Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers and prepare the requisite report at the end of the day.
  • Ensure all unresolved queries with respect to specific transactions and concerns are brought to the attention of the Head Teller.
  • Responds to basic customer inquiries and provides cash, check and electronic deposit and withdrawal services to customers.
  • Refers sales and customer inquiries to appropriate staff.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • University graduate preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study)
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking within a highly rated international bank.
  • Fluent Arabic essential

Up to £45,000.00 per year
