    The Growth Company's (GC) employment business unit has an exciting opportunity for an Employment Advisor to work on our Refugee Employment Programme.

    GC is a fast-growing, purpose-based social enterprise and, as part of our mission for positive change, we deliver services for the Home Office, working with refugees across Yorkshire & Humber. Our services focus on supporting individuals holistically, ensuring they have access to all the support they need to progress and move forward into employment.

    As an Employment Advisor, you will make our customers feel welcome and comfortable when they are first referred to our programmes. This is one of our top priorities. You'll need to be able to engage with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. As an Employment Advisor, you will facilitate a range of employability and personal development activities via 1-1 or group-based learning sessions. This role will require you to empower and encourage participants to create a development plan and support them in their learning, whilst monitoring their progress. You'll identify and overcome barriers to improve their chances of gaining work, integrate into local communities and learn English.

    We are looking for talented individuals who have language skills in Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Urdu, Turkish, Dari, Kurdish, Kurdish Sorani, Swahili, Albanian, or other languages that would be beneficial in supporting refugees in the UK, but this is not essential. Also, if you have personal experience of resettlement, we would be keen to hear from you (this is not essential).

    Agile working options are available for this role. This role will be predominantly based in the following locations: Bradford and across West Yorkshire. There will be a requirement to travel across the region when necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide an environment that ensures that standards are maintained, monitored and that the service meets all statutory and contractual requirements.
    • To provide advice and support in line with individual client support plans in relation to accessing statutory, voluntary, and mainstream services. This includes education (schools and colleges), welfare benefits, housing, and health services.
    • Deliver advice, support, signposting, and referrals through various means of communication including in person, group briefings, in writing, phone and video calls.
    • Support refugees with information about community organisations and local agencies that can assist with longer term support and promote activities that enable integration and engagement with their local community.
    • To work with each service user to develop a personalised support plan which aims to promote progression. This includes regularly reviewing and updating the support plan and using monitoring tools such as the integration outcomes star to measure progress.
    • Maintain good practice in the use of exterior partnerships. Including assessing the need for interpretation, taking into consideration complexity of information or advice.
    • Maintain confidentiality in all dealings with refugees and agencies, ensuring that all activities are in line with GDPR.
    • Work as part of a team to co-ordinate and deliver advice, guidance and training interventions that meet the needs of unemployed individuals.
    • Participate in other activities that support the work of the team and Growth Company, such as tender/bid writing, development of new products/services.

    About You:

    • Excellent knowledge of the local labour market, methods of recruitment and awareness of growth industries
    • Good knowledge and understanding of welfare to work and the customer base.
    • Good knowledge of training, education, and employment opportunities.

    Skills Required:

    • You must have a valid UK driving license and access to vehicle – business insurance will be required for roles involving travel to work.
    • Previous work with refugees or other vulnerable people/families.
    • Support Work experience with socially excluded or vulnerable people would be beneficial.
    • Flexible approach to work including willingness to travel, with occasional unsociable hours.
    • Language skills in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Turkish, Dari or other languages would be beneficial but are not essential.
