ABOUT THE POST:


An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre for an 18-month fixed term full-time training post in Echocardiography.

This is part of the Echocardiography Training Programme (ETP) developed by the National School of Healthcare Science and funded by Health Education England.


Our mission is to improve the health/quality of life for our patients by building an organisation that develops and invests in the individuals that work here and this can only be achieved with the recruitment of the right people.

Learning to perform and interpret Adult Echocardiograms.

Gain Level 2 Adult Accreditation with the British Society of Echocardiography

Performing routine diagnostic cardiac tests such as resting ECG


We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As a Trainee Echocardiographer you will be required to undergo an 18-month training program to become competent independent practitioner in the field of Echocardiography.

Duties will include learning how to perform specialised cardiac investigations including Transthoracic Echocardiograms.


You will be expected to develop your knowledge & skills using a variety of work based and University based learning.

Completion of this training program will lead to a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Echocardiography with the intention of the trainee completing the British Society of Echocardiography Level 2 Adult Accreditation process.
