    Your New Role

    We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Group IT Team on a full time, permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working with occasional travel to either Liverpool, Birmingham or London.

    As a permanent full-time Senior Network & Telecoms Engineer you will support Amey's data and voice infrastructure to enable our people to realise our purpose and demonstrate our values.

    As Security Clearance will be required the successful candidate must be a British Citizen and willing to apply for and successfully receive Security Clearance (SC) as well as sign the Official Secrets Act.

    The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday. On call will be required and offers a generous on call allowance.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Following operating procedures and policies of both Amey and our clients.
    • Assisting in the planning, implementation and optimisation of the network infrastructure.
    • Developing and maintaining automated monitoring and recovery of network services.
    • Ensuring all elements of the network are properly secured, regularly patched and tidied up.
    • Creating operational support and process documentation.
    • Working closely with colleagues in Amey Group-IT to ensure stability, security and functionality of technical solutions.
    • Providing mentoring support to junior members of the team.
    • Ensuring adherence to industry and security governance frameworks/laws.
    • Providing out of hours support as part of a call out rota.

    Profile:

    We want to hear from you if you have:

    • One or more relevant enterprise network qualification (e.g. CCNP) or ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge.
    • Full UK Driving License.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Technical analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to work as an individual as well as part of the team.
    • Supporting a large secure enterprise network infrastructure including change management, availability, performance and capacity planning.
    • Managing mutli-vendor firewall environments.
    • Managing large multi-site MPLS networks.
