About The Role:

We are looking for a passionate individual to provide excellent support within our Planning Strategy team.

The team is responsible for delivering the Local Plan which sets out the future direction for the development of housing, creation and protection of jobs and wildlife and other land uses across the borough.

You will support the team in the development and implementation of the Local Plan, with particular focus on monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of planning policy as the Local Plan moves to adoption in early 2023.

You will be tasked with providing technical support to the team, researching new areas of policy work, being the customer facing member of the team and helping to respond to a variety of enquiries from customers and councillors, as well as organising consultation events and exhibitions.

This makes it an engaging, varied, and interesting role.

About You:

You must be able to prioritise, meet deadlines and work without close supervision.

Of course, good IT skills and experience in a range of administrative and technical tasks, together with the all-important "can do" attitude, are essential, with a knowledge of mapping systems and an interest in planning being useful.
