A bit about the role
:


Working in the Affordable Housing Technical Hub Team, the Business Support Officer will initially play a critical role in supporting the smooth running and closure of the First Homes programme, with the potential to work on other programmes that include supporting the design and delivery of new programmes or changes to existing programmes.

You will be joining a talented team, who are committed to making positive change in how we deliver our Affordable Housing Programmes.

The team values individual's thoughts and perspectives for learning, decision making and problem solving.

The Technical Hub is responsible for the grant funding programme, product development and management across affordable and specialist housing.

The team acts as the guardian for grant investment, leading on the stewardship, governance and operational control framework for delivery.

The team also leads on strategic business and programme planning working closely with Government stakeholders to develop new products and funding initiatives.


This role is a chance to be involved in affordable housing delivery and new programmes in an evolving, national organisation with real impact and purpose.


In the role, you will:
Provide administrative support for the team to ensure programme work is organised and meets often tight deadlines.

Deliver a great service to stakeholders by efficiently resolving a range of queries.

Use programme management tools and work with stakeholders to ensure systems and data are continually updated and accurate.

Respond to evolving requirements and provide efficient updates on programme risks, issues and dependencies.


Produce regular updates on the progress of the programme, including contributions to briefings for governance boards and other senior meetings or papers.

Facilitate meetings on behalf of the team.

Lead professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Deliver outputs in a fast-paced environment, providing information in a precise, timely manner to a high standard.

Be comfortable with change and be flexible to changing priorities.

Take a proactive and creative approach to solving problems and improving processes.


A bit about you:


As an experienced administration professional, you will be used to working on multiple workstreams at once while proactively looking for ways to improve processes.


You will be resilient, and comfortable working with stakeholders at a senior level and have a good understanding of the impact of what we do as a team.

You will be a collaborative and inclusive team member bringing curiosity and enthusiasm to team meetings and events.


Essential criteria:


Experience of working in a project or programme delivery role or using project management skills to effectively support a delivery team.


Knowledge and experience of using project/programme management tools and methodologies, such as planning and scheduling work, risk and issues management.

in administration, particularly in supporting teams and facilitating meetings.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

Able to create professional reports using data in excel and summarising complex information simply in PowerPoint (using plain English).

Able to deliver outputs in a fast-paced environment.

Team player who is enthusiastic, collaborative, and able to work pro-actively and independently.


Desirable criteria:
Data analytics and reporting skills.

Housing and/or public sector knowledge and experience.
