Job Purpose
The Community Hub Coordinator will play a pivotal role in leading the ongoing development and management of our Zero Waste Hub.
The primary focus will be to cultivate a community-centric environment that empowers individuals to embrace low-carbon living and engage in circular economy practices.
This role entails overseeing venue operations, facilitating events and training sessions, and implementing monitoring and evaluation strategies to ensure the effectiveness and inclusivity of the hub's initiatives.
The post is based on a salary of £27,000 per annum, pro rata for 21 hours per week.Main Responsibilities:
Venue Management:
Manage day-to-day operations of the Community Hub, upholding the principle of equal access to circular economy resources for all members of the community.
Promote carbon literacy through educational initiatives and resources available at the hub.
Collaborate with staff members and volunteers to maintain a welcoming and safe environment conducive to community networking and connection.
Events Management:
- Organize and coordinate events aimed at raising awareness of sustainable living practices and fostering community engagement.
- Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to develop collaborative event opportunities aligned with the hub's mission and objectives.
Training Management:
- Schedule, utilizing external trainers, workshops on topics related to waste reduction, recycling, composting, and other aspects of sustainable living.
- Tailor training programs to meet the diverse needs and interests of the community, ensuring accessibility and relevance.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact and effectiveness of hub activities and initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decisionmaking.
- Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future actions.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in community engagement or project management within the charity, environmental or sustainability sector.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and social equity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and foster positive relationships.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required for events and activities.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of circular economy principles and practices.
- Experience in delivering educational or training programs.
- Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
- Previous experience working with volunteers or community groups.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to community spaces.
- A clean driving license and the use of a vehicle for business use
- The ability to speak Welsh
Job Types:
