Job Introduction

A fixed term position has become available for a Business Support Officer up until the 31st March 2025, primarily supporting Economy, Infrastructure & Skills Services.

The role will be based within the Business and Executive Support Team at Staffordshire Place 1. Interviews will take place face to face week commencing 10th July 2023.

Main Responsibilities

The work will involve changing demands and will require effective and accurate communication with a wide range of internal and external customers and extensive use of the Microsoft Office suite.

Completing a range of administrative tasks ensuring compliance with business processes and our Service Level Agreements.


Undertaking a range of financial transactions as directed including placing orders and raising of invoices in line with our Financial Regulations.

Maintain an awareness of policies, guidance, processes and best practice relating to the service supported.

Attendance at meetings undertaking note taking recording of actions and decisions.


Working as part of the wider Business and Executive Support Team (BEST) there will be a wide range of opportunities to get involved with other projects that are allocated to the team.


It would be great if you have:

  • Good communication skills with a personable and helpful approach.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • An ability to work in a fastpaced, busy environment, and to manage changes at short notice.
  • Excellent administrative skills and experience to support the provision of a timely and high quality business support service for Staffordshire County Council.
  • Willingness to learn our inhouse Systems.
  • Confident in being able to take notes and actions at meetings.
