Hours: 37.5 hours/Mon-Fri - Permanent

Hybrid working
(office in Sutton Coldfield, 2-3 days, and remote working)
An organisation that helps others This not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Welfare Benefits Specialist to join the Operations team.
The Senior Welfare Benefits Specialist will work with, support, assist and represent vulnerable people of all ages and abilities to improve their financial situation and wellbeing.
What you will need to succeed:
The successful Senior Welfare Benefits Specialist will have the ability:
- To have experience of providing a specialist tribunal service or other representation to customers;
- To be able to successfully manage own workload, administration, and diary commitments;
- To have an indepth and up to date understanding of the welfare benefits system;
- To have knowledge of services provided by the NHS, social care, trust funds and/ or debt services;
- To have effective active listening techniques;
- To be able to understand and encourage others to contribute and debate ideas;
- To have adaptable people skills both in formal and informal situations;
- To have high level verbal, written and presentation skills;
- To have attention to detail;
- To be enthusiastic and resilient;
- To have the ability to monitor and maintain own performance targets;
- To have the ability to work under pressure and plan own caseload/service levels
- To have experience of the DRO process as an approved intermediary;
- You will require an enhanced DBS check for this role.
