Job Title: Mentor/Facilitator at St Giles Trust

Are you someone who is highly organized, works well in teams, and has a compassionate nature with experience in the criminal justice system? Do you have a proven track record of assisting young individuals involved in, or at risk of, entering the Criminal Justice System?

Join St Giles Trust, a dedicated charity that supports individuals in challenging situations to secure employment, housing, and the necessary assistance. Within our organization, we strongly believe that individuals who have successfully overcome adversities such as past offenses, homelessness, addictions, and gang affiliations can inspire positive transformations in others.

About the Role: As a Mentor/Facilitator at St Giles Trust, your primary responsibility will revolve around managing a crucial Mentor Programme for at-risk young individuals and students up to the age of 25. Your role will entail building meaningful connections with each individual to offer emotional guidance, support, and mentorship. Leveraging your personal experiences, professional expertise, and St Giles' resources, you will assist these young individuals in addressing their unique needs and obstacles, helping them define and attain their educational, personal, and career objectives.

Collaboration with professionals to devise strategies for mitigating risks faced by young individuals will be essential. Adopting a trauma-informed approach, recognizing and responding to trauma, and amplifying individuals' voices and experiences will be vital in your role. Fostering positive attitudes, behaviors, and social skills among your mentees, as well as providing support during whole-school awareness sessions, are integral components of this position.

    • Experience in cooperative work with diverse partners across multiple agencies
    • Proficiency in record-keeping and adeptness with Microsoft Applications
    • Dedication to maintaining high standards of safeguarding
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship-building and effective communication
    • Adaptable, team-oriented, and professional in all work undertakings
    • Possession of a Full Driving Licence and access to personal transportation
