£ £12.35 paye per hour

£ £13.35 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour

£ £14.35 umbrella per hour

All of the rates are depending on skill and experience

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours


Main responsibilities and duties_:
_


  • Carry out repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles operated by the Trust and where applicable third party owned vehicles.
  • Carry out effective overhaul, repair and servicing of the vehicles in a safe and economical and timely manner employing skills and knowledge as required.
  • Carry out effective repair and service of specialist equipment used on ambulance vehicles within the skill and training given.
  • To test and diagnose faults on vehicles with the aid of diagnostic equipment available. If suitably qualified to undertake the testing of vehicles within an MOT registered Test Station to the required standards and document these tests.
  • Note and report additional work arising to Supervision for decision on scope of repairs to be undertaken.
  • Complete all relevant documentation relating to work undertaken and if applicable enter these details into Trust Fleet IT system. (Training will be given in use of system)
  • Indent from stores or order to agreed limits parts for work in progress as approved by Assistant Head of Fleet.
  • Attend damaged or defective vehicles to effect repairs or recover to Trust workshop for rectification; at all times observing appropriate safety and Traffic regulations. These duties will also involve participation in an out of hours call out rota withinthe base unit.
  • Observe at all times safe working practices and Health & Safety regulations as applicable to the workplace.
  • Attend as required training and development courses arranged by the Trust.
  • Keep individual knowledge of Industry developments up to date on products and technology.
  • Maintain records of work and attendance as required by Trust systems.
  • To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be expected within the scope and confines of the grade.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum qualifications are a recognised apprenticeship resulting in City & Guilds or NVQ certificates and a MOT tester certificate is desirable.
  • Extensive practical experience in dealing with the technical aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair and the ability to sustain a high standard of performance in this work.
