You will be employed by the Client acting through their Finance Deputy.

Introduction:

Our client is a lovely 33-year-old woman with Cerebral Palsy and associated learning difficulties and epilepsy. She lives with her parents in a beautifully adapted bungalow.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join a well-established team of support staff.

Alongside the rest of the team, you will be committed to promoting and maintaining an independent lifestyle for our client so she can achieve her full potential and ensure she enjoys her life.

You will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the client and the rota.

You will be undertaking a range of duties to support the Client, work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of health care.

Your role will involve working in the client's home, local community and enabling her to go on holiday on a regular basis.

There is a regular rota but in addition you will be asked to cover for other staff annual leave, sickness and to accompany our client on holiday.


You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, backed by previous health care experience (preferred), however full training will be given to those with the right approach and attitude.

The post requires that you work independently to a very great extent. The post therefore requires that you work and conduct yourself in a manner that is acceptable to the employer. Reliability, integrity and complete trustworthiness are essential attributes in this post.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Promote, monitor, and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
  • Promote effective communication and relationships.
  • Manage Epilepsy.
  • Contribute to the protection of individuals from abuse.
  • To establish and maintain a trusting, therapeutic, working relationships.
  • To liaise with other agencies
  • To complete daily records as advised including time sheets, care plan summary and critical incidents, petty cash.
  • Attend review meetings with the employer and other persons as nominated by the employer.
  • To attend training sessions as arranged
  • To be responsible for the client's personal welfare
  • To supervise activities in line with the support plan guidelines
  • To travel to hospitals, treating therapists, dentist, GP or elsewhere for therapeutic care to support client.
  • Enable our client to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
  • To travel with the client to support them to participate in recreation and leisure activities such as swimming, bowling and social events.
  • To join in with these community activities including swimming
  • To travel for holidays in UK

Hours required:

1 weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per month 8am -9pm: 26 hours

Alternate Wednesday (8am -5pm) and Thursday (8am - 9pm): 44 hours

1 Monday and 1 Friday per month 8am -1pm: 10 hours

Total hours over 4 week rota: 80 hours
