Have you just completed your mechanical engineering qualification and are looking for practical on the job training in a workshop environment?

Do you have a practical understanding of machine work, a keen interest in engineering and are looking to further your workshop knowledge in areas such as CNC machining, CNC programming and product assembly & testing?

If you have answered yes this could be the role for you


Our client, an engineering firm synonymous with high-quality re-manufactured auto-parts, are looking for a
Trainee CNC Operator to join their production centre based in Paddock Wood.

Working with a team of qualified engineers you will learn to:


  • Load existing programs to CNC machines, set up tooling to operate CNC machine tools and carry out machining operations as required by production documents.
  • Be conversant with machine tool controls and basic programming languages.
  • Make minor program changes to existing programs to provide the most efficient machining methods.
To be successful in this role you will need:

  • High level of IT litercay, you will be working with ProtoTrax SMX control software.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • The ability to work methodically and follow detailed instruction.
Hours are
Monday to Friday, .

Initially a temporary contract with weekly pay there is the opportunity of a permanent contract for the right person after 12 weeks.
