What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors in London to support children and young people with SEND. Many children with SEND have been disengaged with their learning.

We support pupils that have struggled to stay in the classroom, who feel too anxious to goto school or whose needs aren't sufficiently supported at school.

We tutor children face to face in a range of settings including homes, schools, and community centres.

You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with children in a therapeutic way.

One of your aims will be to support a student who is out of school and re-engage them in their learning and continue their educational development.

ASEND tuition is replacing school for this young person and will take place during school hours, five days a week.

Our pupils have a range of individual interests, needs and abilities, and we work very hard to match the tutor with the child who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About Our Young Person

ASEND is looking for a skilled tutor to support a 15 year old boy with complex needs who is currently not able to attend his school.

He loves being outdoors, is a fan of swimming and responds positively to a well structured day. We require a tutor with experienceof working with autistic older teens and severe learning difficulties. ASEND will be closely collaborating with his school to ensure his tuition will be tailored and successful.

Training similar to Team Teach is ideal as is an understanding of Autism particularlyrelating to anxiety and sensory driven behaviours.

This is a hugely interesting and rewarding opportunity to really make a difference to the life and learning experiences of this young person.

The tuition will be five full days per week in term time and the remuneration is excellent. We also provide excellenttraining, and you are always supported by real experts in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

We're a really friendly team who all share the common goal of helping children and young people with SEND get the best.

- have some experience with SEND; including Physical and Genetic Disorders (eg Down Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome), Autism, ADHD, and Learning and Communication Difficulties.
- be passionate about helping young people overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
- be able to build a rapport and strong relationship with young people and their families and with colleagues
- ideally, have some experience of helping others with their learning
- have the ability to motivate and inspire people
- use a person-centred approach in their work
- make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that they plan and do
- have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement in mental health and confidence.
