The Pilot Group (TWM) are looking for an organised, hard-working, problem-solving individual, with good management skills and the ability to lead, mentor and motivate a highly skilled team within our manufacturing site.

Established in 2002, based in the Northwest of England, TWM are leaders in manufacturing LED integrated traffic control systems. We cater to local authorities, parish councils, traffic management companies, contractors as well as private sites.

The Role

  • Create accurate and timely daily production schedules to deliver customer service at optimal cost
  • Develop a robust and capable supply chain to future proof the business
  • Coordinate robust purchasing process for production
  • Review previous day reporting on any nonconformances with Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) involving other functions where appropriate
  • Develop and deliver visual controls for KPI's, planning and major projects
  • Aligning production planning process to sales order book, capability, and capacity. Risks identified and mitigated with corrective actions
  • Aligning raw material stock, and finished good stock for forward order book capacity
  • Be a professional problem solver with excellent leadership skills
  • Have the ability to lead, motivate and mentor, to help the team fulfil their potential.
  • To lead by example, delivering major change across the business
  • Promote and implement a LEAN culture throughout the business. Identify and implement continuous improvements within all processes to improve cost, quality and delivery
  • Support the Engineering department to ensure targets are achieved

This is a hands-on role, managing the daily production aspects of the business, through strategic planning, assembly, manufacture, warehousing and delivery. The role will ensure effective management of resources to budgeted costs, whilst maintaining a safe and sustainable working environment.

  • Proven track record in operational delivery
  • Min 5 years' experience working in a best practice manufacturing environment
  • Results focused
  • Competent in Sage 200 or an equivalent software
  • Understanding of business systems with the ability to learn quickly
  • Understanding of various manufacturing & assembly techniques and ability to learn new
  • Strong problemsolving skills in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards
  • Demonstrated leadership of process improvement tools, techniques in an operations environment
  • Proven leadership skills across an organisation
  • Ability to link strategy into operational delivery with the appropriate commercial acumen
  • A willingness to learn, innovate and build a sustainable business
  • Strong analysis skills to enable excellent decision making

Desirable:


  • Honours degree (ideally in Mechanical / Production Engineering)
