We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and flexible individual to support our In Patient Unit and volunteers at Isabel Hospice.


Isabel Hospice has been providing free palliative care to its patients and their families since 1982, providing support and care to people in eastern Hertfordshire who are affected by life-limiting illnesses through a range of different services.


We are seeking a flexible, well organised individual who can join the team at our In Patient Unit (IPU) to work with our clinical volunteers.

You will be the first point of contact for the volunteers, primarily at IPU in vital roles such as hospitality and reception, but also at times supporting volunteers at our Living Well service.

Key responsibilities will be_

  • You will provide support to new volunteer starters, arranging shadow shifts, advice on mandatory training requirements and responding to queries and concerns raised.
  • You will need to maintain a visible presence, be flexible and be prepared to take a volunteer shift where there is insufficient volunteer cover available.
  • Plan and arrange regular catch ups with volunteers to ensure they feel valued and engaged with the service and support with wellbeing issues and refer as appropriate.
  • Maintaining up to date information regarding volunteer data, liaising with the Volunteer Engagement Team and providing some general administrative support to the Head of In Patient Services are also required.
  • Successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check (Formally known as CRB)_
  • We encourage all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid19._

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 12 per week

£6,327.00 per year
