Job Profile Summary:


The Middle Office Senior Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting Asset Managers by providing review/analysis of fund profit and loss accounts and calculating the Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds.

They are responsible for highlighting potential operationalor valuation issues to the Asset Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the fund capital used by portfolio managers for their daily trading levels, ensuring that fund subscriptions and redemptions are accurately captured
  • Use the firm's systems and other available tools (Bloomberg, vendor data etc.), on a daily basis review and analyse fund profit and loss accounts across asset classes, in order to assist reporting performance to Asset Managers
  • Review Net Asset Values (NAVs) of funds on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis including checking accrued income and expenses. Provide intraNAV estimates to the Asset Managers when requested
  • Work across multiple teams, such as where new funds and accounts are being launched, ensuring that they are correctly set up and operate within our system and control processes in line with the product specifications. This requires close collaboration withinternal Man teams (such as the fund managers, product structuring, business management, legal, compliance, trading, operations, tax, and finance), as well as external parties (most notably the fund administrators and custodians, fund directors, and investors)
  • Liaise with the fund administrator(s) daily in reconciling final fund NAVs and addressing other accounting queries and issues
  • Support a range of _ad hoc_ requests from across the business and investors, such as providing Middle Office input and fund insights to respond to investor, portfolio manager, trading and business management queries, RFPs (requests for proposal),and investor due diligence reviews
  • Attend meetings with administrators and pricing committees
  • Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the pricing governance and controls are maintained through identification and mitigation of pricing risks and the communication/documentation of any enhancements to the framework
  • Review fund financial statements and other regulatory and tax reporting requirements on a periodic basis, bringing to the fore insights to the relevant funds and knowledge of fund accounting
  • Actively contribute to and/or lead project work on behalf of Middle Office in the integration of technology changes and enhancement of existing systems and processes
  • Contribute to oversight and and monitoring of service providers

Key Skills & Experience:


  • Experience working in Financial Services, typically in an investment bank or asset management firm
  • Direct experience within/exposure to a capital market assetclass (e.g. FICC, Equities, FX)
  • Good understanding of traded financial instruments / derivatives
  • Qualified Accountant/CFA (or relevant qualification) desirable
  • Highly numerate
  • A team player, who is also comfortable to take individual ownership
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple senior stakeholders
